    Loire Valley Wines Tour (overnight)
This wine tour of Loire wines covers sauvignon at the eastern end of the Loire Valley at Sancerre and Pouilly sur Loire, the chenin blanc in the center at Vouvray, cabernet franc in Chinon and Saumur and the chenin blanc again in Anjou.

You will be led by a personal bilingual guide with extensive experience in these wines, who starts the tour with a two hour drive from Paris to Sancerre. There you will have a tasting at either Bourgeois, Cotat Frères, Lucien Crochet, André Dezat, Jolivet, Mellot, Vincent Pinard, Roger or Vacheron. The actual venue will be determined according to the producers' commitments at the time.

A lunch orchestrated around the wines of Sancerre at Sancerre's Tour restaurant, with its quaint 14th century tower overlooking the vineyards, follows. Then we cross the Loire River over to Pouilly sur Loire, where you will have a tasting of Pouilly Fumé at either: Château de Tracy, Cailbourin, Didier Daguenau, Chatelain, Château de Favray, Edmond and Andre Figeat, Masson Blondelet or Tinel Blondelet.

This Loire valley wine tour then heads west, in a three hour drive to Tours, where we will check into the beautiful Napoleon III-style Jean Bardet Hotel. After a stroll through Tours' picturesque Old Town, we christen our sampling of Chinon and Vouvray wines with a meal at the hotel's elegant two star restaurant that integrates those wines.

We start our second day with a tasting at near-by Vouvray at either: Allias, Champalou, Foreau, Fouquet, Château Gaudrelle, Huet, Pinon, Poniatowski or Vigneau-Chevreau. We will have a lunch conceived with Vouvray and Chinon wines at the starred Beauvois restaurant in nearby Luynes, after which we proceed to Chinon for a tasting at either Bernard Baudry, Alliet, Crespin, Château de Coulaine, Couly-Dutheil, (Clos de l'Echo), Druet, Château Grille, Joguet, Lambert, Loup, or Raffault.

Time permitting, we will visit the fairy tale castle of Saumur, before spending the night at the sumptuous Prieuré Hotel just outside Saumur in Chenehutte-les-Tuffeaux, installed in a 12th and 16th century priory. There we will sample an evening meal conceived around the wines of Saumur and Saumur Champigny.

The last day of this Loire valley wine tour begins with a tasting of Saumur Champigny at either Châteaux Hureau or de Villeneuve, Domaines Filliatreau, Legrand, Nerleux, Roches Neuves, Val Brun or Clos Rougeard. Our last meal of the tour will be in the village of  Doué-la-Fontaine, at the Auberge Bienvenue, where we will have a meal conceived with sweet wines of the Côteaux de l'Aubance and Layon. Afterward, we will have our final tasting, of Côteaux de Layon wines at either Baumard, Domaine de la Bergerie, Cady, Delhumeau, Delevaux, des Forges, Domaine de Juchepie, Ogereau, Papin, Jo Pithon, Yves Soulez or du Breuil.

Our last visit will be to the Anjou capital of Angers and its 13th century castle, with its extraordinary 14th century Apocalypse tapestry. We then conclude this Loire wine tour with a three-hour drive back to Paris.
